Something about us

Joyce and Alan Griffiths live in Warwickshire, near to the town Stratford-upon-Avon, world famous as the birthplace and home of the playwrite Willliam Shakespeare. They have worked in the tourism / guiding business for more than fifteen years and over this period have developed their business from that of a small two person service to a now busy and expanding operation.

What is Guide-Link?

Guide-Link was formed five years ago with the idea of providing a service to small and large tour operators looking for guides around the country. In addition to finding and booking guides we also arrange and plan tours, prepare itineries and events, and advise on most aspects of travel and visits in Britain.

We both act as tour guides throughout England, but for larger groups we can also offer a guide booking service and arrange itineries.
In addition we can arrange all transport requirements, make hotel reservations and arrange entry to museums, stately homes and heritage properties.

Language guides are available in many languages and if special interests are required a wide range can be covered.

Wide experience of guiding in many locations, both general and special interest- 1 am able to relate to any particular group and 1 prefer a light approach, but 1 can be scholarly if required.

London and Windsor Castle qualified guide.

Architecture (As a practising architect 1 can cover all aspects of architectural development and style - in any age, including today. 1 also lecture on architectural matters.)

Britain Today (The essence of contemporary Britain: Politics, business, environment, art and architecture, agriculture, industry, folk culture. In other words - what makes Britain tick now!)

Castles & Palaces (Development of fortifications and the parallel changes in domestic comfort and display are a particular interest of mine. All major and minor United Kingdom sites.)

Churches & Cathedrals (From humble churches to magnificent cathedrals, the story of their building and the people who built and worshipped in them is fascinating-)

Countryside (History and development of countryside and all aspects of: Fields and boundaries, roads and tracks, woods and trees, streams and rivers, flora and fauna etc.)

Decorative Arts/Arts & Crafts (Painting, sculpture, decorative art in glass, china, furniture and fabrics - there is much 1 can show you in houses and museums.)

Gardens (From mediaeval gardens to the great English landscape garden is a wonderful story but 1 can introduce you to more facets beyond this.)

Industrial Heritage (in a country which began the industrial revolution - explore with me the early ironworks, mines, canals, railways - together with current manufacture of glass, china, jewellery.)

Stately Homes & Country Houses (Visit these glorious major and minor homes, set in the British countryside and explore a lost world of statesman, eccentrics and country squires.)

Walking Tours (in cities, towns and villages, parks and countryside, anywhere. The only way to see the real Britain and in depth.)
